Bright Future Begins with Clean Water

Updated: Jan 21, 2023

Water is one of the most critical necessities for the sustenance of life. It is essential for every aspect of our lives and is also the most prevalent natural resource. Growing up, I was used to drinking boiled water and assuming it was safe and clean, without knowing that boiling water

alone wouldn’t assure us we were safe. Today, technology has helped shape the importance of water and how it is managed. We can now drink clean and safe water from the ocean bodies and through the process of the water cycle, which is then filtered and processed in the dams of our community. This helps ensure that the water we consume is safe and free from contaminants.

Furthermore, it is also essential to understand the different levels of water cleanliness. For example, drinking water is usually treated with chlorine to kill pathogens and is filtered through a filtration system to remove any particulates. This process ensures that the water we drink is free from contaminants and safe to consume. Moreover, water conservation is also a critical factor in maintaining the cleanliness of the water. By reducing our water usage and practising water conservation, we can help prevent water pollution and ensure the water.

A DROP OF HOPE

My neighbor used to fetch a lot of water everyday, she never gave up and hopes that this would change.

A DROP OF PRIDE

Veterans Village is a barangay in Iloilo where there are about 300 households. In this community approximately 100 households use well water as their source of water. However, the pipes broke down and the people were left without safe water.

CHANGE STARTS IN SCHOOL

The public and private schools in Iloilo City and province built sanitation areas for children to clean their hands. Because they believe that a successful student is a healthy student.

IT'S ABOUT TRANSFORMING COMMUNITIES

There were 2 well water sources in a community in Iloilo, but they dried up. The mayor created a way to ensure that every household could gain access to the safe water. A civilian said “ they used to walk miles away to the river just to wash clothes”.
